The "Rule of Three"

To prevent blade damage and ensure a clean cut, you should have at least 3 teeth engaged in the material at all times. For thin tubing, this requires a very fine TPI (18-24). For large solids, a coarse TPI (2-4) is better for chip clearance.

Speed & Heat

Harder materials require slower blade speeds to prevent the teeth from overheating and losing their hardness. Stainless and Tool Steels should be cut with flood coolant whenever possible.
